Caliptic Translate

A translator device alternative you already own

Dedicated translator devices cost between about $120 and $450, and they are one more thing to buy, carry, charge and lose. Caliptic does the same job on the phone already in your pocket — 22 languages, fully offline, $1.99 a month.

The device you already carry

A translator gadget only helps if it is in your hand when the conversation starts. Your phone always is. It is charged, it is unlocked, and you already know how it works. Caliptic turns it into a two-way interpreter: press start, put the phone between you, and each person speaks their own language.

Offline is the whole point

Many translator gadgets are built around a data connection — Pocketalk, for example, ships with a five-year eSIM plan, and Timekettle's earbuds list 42 languages online but only 13 language pairs offline (both from their own stores, September 2026). Caliptic runs all 22 supported languages on the device itself: speech recognition, translation and the voices. Airplane mode, a foreign SIM you never bought, a mountain village — same result.

What you pay, and what stays yours

A device is money spent up front. Caliptic is $1.99 a month, and every session starts with free minutes so you can try it before paying anything. More importantly, your conversations never leave the phone: no account, no cloud, no recordings, no advertising. A gadget that needs a data plan sends your words somewhere; this one has nowhere to send them.
