Translate With One Earbud Each
Caliptic's Couple Mode splits one pair of earbuds between two people. You hear them in your language, they hear you in theirs — from a single phone, with the conversation never leaving it.
How it works
Open Caliptic, choose the two languages and turn on Couple Mode. Split the pair: one earbud carries your language, the other carries theirs. Put the phone down between you and talk normally — nobody has to hold it, press anything or wait for a turn.
Why an earbud each beats a speaker
A phone speaker plays both languages out loud, so you hear every sentence twice — and so does everyone around you. With an earbud each you only hear the half you need, in your own language. In a restaurant, a taxi or a clinic waiting room, that is the difference between having a conversation and giving a performance.
Works with the earbuds you already own
No dedicated gadget, no second device to charge. Any Bluetooth pair works, and so does a wired splitter. Speech recognition and translation run on the phone itself, so the conversation keeps working on a plane, underground or abroad without a SIM — and what you say is never sent anywhere.
Does the other person need the app?
No. One phone and one pair of earbuds is enough. The other person installs nothing and needs no account.
Which phones have Couple Mode?
On iPhone and Android. The desktop apps for Mac and Windows do not have it — there the translation plays through your speakers or a virtual microphone instead.
